A journey of colour, creativity and self-expression
Student Art Exhibition
8th July, 2026
From June 30 to July 3, 2022, 3e International School hosted its annual Student Art Exhibition at the Choi Centre Cloud House. As a signature annual event of the school, the exhibition showcased students’ growth and discoveries in arts education over the past academic year. It offered children a professional gallery venue to present their creations, fostering dialogue with families, local communities and the general public centered on imagination, self-expression and art appreciation.
The exhibition featured an array of individual and collaborative artworks crafted by students from the Early Years and Primary Divisions of 3e International School. Spanning contemporary art, global art and traditional Chinese art, the pieces demonstrate rich experimentation with color palettes, composition, materials and creative techniques. Children could recreate these artworks through their unique observation, feeling and inspiration from master artists including Christopher Marley, Giuseppe Arcimboldo, Gustav Klimt and Piet Mondrian.

Entering the gallery, visitors were greeted by the children’s bold use of color, meticulous observations of nature and daily life, and their capacity to convey emotions, fantasies and self-awareness through art. Through creativity, students learned to observe the world and respond to an authentic, individual artistic world in their ways.
The first two days of the exhibition were exclusive to 3e families, after which it opened to the public as an official featured programme of Gallery Weekend Beijing. Drawing crowds of art enthusiasts, the exhibition served as a vital link connecting the school, families, art institutions and the broader community.
Olivier Yang, an art teacher at 3e International School and curator of the exhibition, commented: “We are honoured to display every child’s artwork within a world-class contemporary art venue such as the Choi Centre-Cloud House… Creation takes courage. Art touches every child’s heart and empowers their ongoing growth.”
This edition of the 3e Student Art Exhibition marked the first formal collaboration between the Choi Centre Cloud House and 3e International School. Both institutions were founded by Jonathan Choi, and are managed by the Jonathan KS Choi Foundation. This partnership not only granted students' access to an authentic professional exhibition platform, but also unlocked new avenues for interdisciplinary learning between art galleries and schools.
The Choi Centre Cloud House holds the conviction that arts education extends far beyond technical instruction—it cultivates perception through observation and critical thinking through creation. This exhibition builds a bridge linking children, art and the community, mainly for kids or children. Moving forward, the Choi Centre Cloud House will continue to explore synergies between art and community development alongside youth growth, bringing the radiance of art into the everyday lives of more people.
